The Girl on the Train meets Rear Window in this gripping novel from a queen of psychological suspense.
Bailey Carpenter is a smart and savvy private investigator, until a horrific attack leaves her trapped at home in her Miami high-rise apartment, crippled by paranoia.
Everywhere she looks, she sees the face of her attacker.
Including in the apartment directly opposite her.
Where someone is watching.
A tour de force from a master of psychological suspense, Joy Fielding's devilish and gripping novel will
have you holding your breath until the very end.
Joy Fielding is the New York Times
bestselling author of Charley's Web, Heartstopper, Mad River Road, See Jane Run, and other acclaimed novels. She divides her time between Toronto and Palm Beach, Florida.
There is so much hype around at the moment about thrillers - 'unputdownable', 'gripping', 'a real page turner', 'will keep you up all night' and unfortunately a lot of the impact
of these cliches has been lost. 'Someone is watching' is all of the above and more. It is different and quite disturbing dealing with the subject matter of rape but I was glued to it. The author manages to get inside the 'victim's' head and it is deeply moving.
As you might expect there is a twist which I wasn't really looking for and which caught me by surprise. There are also some light-hearted moments with teenage Jade - her antics are just brilliant and offset the heavy atmosphere perfectly. I really loved this
book and the characters - very well-written!
